Linda Jacobus' oil still life work, 'God Made the Flowers for You', was a first-place award winner in the 
Small Works, Big Presents: The Gift of Art contest.
The artist not only shows a mastery of the medium,
but a thorough understanding of composition, light and shadow, brushwork as well as elements which  were traditionally included in still-life paintings to imbue meaning and social commentary to the viewer.
