I was born in Palo Alto, California and resided in San Jose until the
age of six. My family of six sisters and one brother moved to
Saratoga, California, where I lived until the age of twelve. I came to
this quaint little town of Martinez in 1965 and have resided here
until the present time.
I have four wonderful sons. The birth of my children and watching them
grow into fine young men has been my greatest accomplishment. Through
the Grace of God this has taught me much about feelings, love and
truth.
Throughout my life I have always had a desire to be creative and
explored different crafts and mediums to express that desire. None of
them fulfilled my yearning. In 1992, I first picked up a brush and gently caressed
the canvas with paint, I knew my search was over.
I am a self- taught artist that loves to study as much as I love to
paint. Being self-taught and using the methods of my own choosing has
enabled me to accomplish techniques in which I feel the most
comfortable. When painting people, I love to capture a mood as to how
I feel while painting that person. Not a portrait, but a story within.
A painting that can speak within itself and yet still communicates. I
basically want to paint truth.
In the world of painting, I have come to the conclusion that God
is the Great Master of all creation. I am only a copyist.
